BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Sabres are moving on without the longtime face of their franchise. And they know the experience will be anything but ordinary. "When a guy like Ryan Miller gets traded, thats not a normal player getting traded," interim head coach Ted Nolan said. "He was the face of the organization for a long, long time. To lose a player like him, its tough." Tough, yes, but perhaps good practice for a team that could be offloading several more veterans before Wednesdays trade deadline, as general manager Tim Murray continues efforts to fix the NHLs worst team. Murray traded Miller and captain Steve Ott to St. Louis on Friday. Buffalo acquired goaltender Jaroslav Halak, right wing Chris Stewart, prospect William Carrier, a 2015 first-round draft pick and a conditional pick. Its unlikely to end there. Christian Ehrhoff said Friday that he recently complied with the Sabres request to submit a list of eight teams that would make up the no-trade clause of his contract. Soon-to-be unrestricted free agents Matt Moulson and Henrik Tallinder could also move, and Murray has said contract status doesnt dictate availability. Even Halak or Stewart could be traded. "Theyre pieces that will be Buffalo Sabres when they pass their physicals and after that its the same as everybody else," Murray said. "And what I said, if it makes sense it makes sense. ... If theyre Buffalo Sabres, they play here and were happy with them." The overhaul began under Murrays predecessor, Darcy Regier, who was fired in November. The Sabres traded numerous high-priced veterans last season, including captain Jason Pominville. It continued into October, when Thomas Vanek was traded to the New York Islanders for Moulson and two high draft picks. The Sabres, as a result, have stockpiled picks. They could have as many as two first-round and three second-round selections in this years draft, with 10 total picks over the first two rounds of the next two drafts. Buffalo also has a solid group of prospects in its farm system, including defencemen Rasmus Ristolainen and Nikita Zadorov, who were both drafted in the first round in June. Murrays objective is to add more draft picks or young prospects, and hes been clear about his intentions to make the team better regardless of cost. "Theres no untouchables," Murray said before the Miller trade. "Its a rebuild." And for the players remaining on the team, its a big opportunity to take a leadership role. In the case of Enroth, its a chance to become a teams No. 1 goaltender for the first time in his career. "If you dont call this a chance, I dont know what a chance is," Enroth said, later adding, "I truly believe I can be a No. 1 guy here." Nolan noticed changes almost immediately after the trade was announced, as Ott and Miller said their goodbyes to teammates. "You could really see it on Drew Staffords face the most," Nolan said Friday. "Him and Matt Moulson really took over the leadership tonight with this young group." Stafford is now the longest-tenured Sabre and the only player left from the 2006-07 team that won the Presidents Trophy, though Tallinder left as a free agent before being reacquired this summer. The general managers goals arent lost on the players in the room, and Tyler Myers has expressed confidence in the direction of the team in general. "You have to look at what we got, too," Myers said. "I think its good for both sides. Im happy for Ott and Miller." Murray said the timing of the deal was not ideal for his roster, but the 22-year-old Marcus Foligno and other young teammates almost immediately recognized the bittersweet chance to drive the team into the future. "I looked around with (Brian) Flynn and (Zemgus) Girgensons, and we just said we gotta step up," Foligno said. "This is a game where we have to play well and this is something where we lost them and now hopefully were here for the long run and were players that they count on." NCAA Jerseys Outlet . With the results, North America claimed 2.5 of the three available points, opening up a 17.5-12.5 lead in the overall standings. Cheap Football NCAA Jerseys . The Spanish champions decision not to sign a defender during the January transfer window may have backfired after Valencia took advantage of a lethargic, uninspired effort by its hosts at the Camp Nou, where former Spain coach Luis Aragones -- who previously coached the Catalan side -- was honoured after his death on Saturday. Wholesale NCAA Jerseys China . - Buffalo Bills running back C.DALLAS - After struggling recently, Minnesota Wild goalie Darcy Kuemper wanted a chance to help the team get a win.He had lost two games in a row. Then he was pulled after giving up two goals on two shots on Thursday. But he came back to make 27 saves in Minnesotas 2-1 victory over the Dallas Stars. If you want to be the man, then you have to get in there and perform well after a night when things really havent gone too well, Wild coach Mike Yeo said. So really pleased with that. The one save that stuck out to me was early in the third period when (Jamie) Benn got that shot off in the slot. That couldve completely changed the complexion of the game.Mikael Granlunds goal came 40 seconds into the third period.Dallas goalie Kari Lehtonen had stopped Charlie Coyles shot from the top of the right circle, but Granlund beat the goalie to the puck to put in the rebound.Kuemper allowed only a second-period goal by Antoine Roussel. We did a good job defending, Kuemper said. Great box-outs allowed me to see it.Dallas coach Lindy Ruff also noticed Minnesotas defence. They must have blocked 30 shots. They did an incredibly good job of being in our shot lane. They got the saves when they needed them and they blocked the shots they needed to block. The Wild actually had 28 blocks, led by Jared Spurgeons seven.Minnesota won its second straight game after a four-game losing streak. The Wild won for just the second time in the past 21 games in Dallas dating back to 2003.The Stars problems at home continued. They have lost six straight (0-4-2) and are 1-4-4 on home ice this season. In all six of those losses, they gave up the winning goal in the third periood or overtime.ddddddddddddThe last two games have been a lot better when it comes to cleaning up the game, Ruff said. These are the type of games well win at home if we keep playing like this. The Wild tied the game at 1 on Erik Haulas goal at 15:41 of the second.Dallas dominated the early play. The Wild didnt have a shot on goal until 9 1/2 minutes into the game, when Jason Zucker attempted to tip in a pass and a rebound of that shot in rapid succession.Lehtonen stopped both shots for the first of his 20 saves. At 5:34 of the second period, the Stars took a 1-0 lead. Vernon Fiddler sent the puck out from behind the net as Roussel skated in front. Roussels high shot beat Kuemper. The Wild tied the game at 15:41 of the second after Ryan Carter took the puck away at Minnesotas blue line to start a 2-on-1 break. He passed across to Haula, who shot from the left circle into the right side of the net.Roussel missed a chance for a second goal off the third-period faceoff when his shot went just left of the goal.Instead, the Wild went down the ice and scored what proved to be the winning goal.NOTES: Stu Bickel, a Minnesota native, made his first appearance for the Wild after being recalled from Iowa of the AHL. He averaged more than 2 penalty minutes per game for the New York Rangers in 2011-12 and 12-13, and went off for unsportsmanlike conduct at 2:53 of the first period Saturday. ... That was one of just three minor penalties in the game. Neither team scored on the power play. Minnesota has only eight goals in 49 power plays. ... Ales Hemskys assist on Roussels goal was only his second assist and second point this season. ' ' '
